The thieves miss the point, again. Had this been an ill-educated woman claiming a benefit and living on a sink estate, sharing a house with her boyfriend but not declaring it to the DWP, how would they react to her claiming indiscretion?
David Laws is supposed a very rich man, so why should he need to put in a claim at all? If his sexuality was such a secret and needed to remain so why did he put HIMSELF in harms way by making false declarations? This more than anything else betrays the duplicitous language of British politics. He is a thief, a liar and Parliament supports him by not having him arrested with at least a charge of Malfeasance in Public Office.
A Labour MP has urged the Metropolitan Police to mount a criminal investigation into the parliamentary expenses claims of former Cabinet minister David Laws.
Thomas Docherty said he was asking Scotland Yard to mount a criminal investigation after Mr Laws was found guilty of breaching parliamentary rules.
"If this matter was not referred to the police the public would rightly ask is there one law for David Laws, and another for them," Mr Docherty said.
