With the NHS coming under pressure from the escalating number and costs of elderly patients, it is time to look around the world at how other countries are coping.
In Japan where retired people reckon to number almost 60% of the population, they have refused to buy their way out of recession and stick to a frugal lifestyle to save for their pension age.
In Britain we will let every one else pay, except ourselves (sic) and a very few extremely wealthy people.
