Sex at the Cenotaph

Outrage over cenotaph abuse

OUTRAGED veterans have demanded a woman is jailed after she was found guilty of urinating and performing a sex act on Blackpool's monument to fallen soldiers.
Major Jim Houldsworth, vice-chairman of the Fylde Ex-Service Liaison Committee, said Lewis needs to be made an example of.

He said: "This was a disgusting act. How on earth do you think the parents of the soldiers feel about someone urinating on their memory?
"I feel a custodial sentence would be appropriate."

Veterans gathered on the court steps on Friday to give Lewis a guard of dishonour.

Coun Julian Mineur, Help the Heroes organiser in Blackpool, said: "This was an act of desecration. There are plenty of places where someone could have relieved themselves in more privacy if they were caught short but this woman chose the top step of the Cenotaph.

"This is not just a memorial to those who died in the past but a memorial to those who are dying on the front line today.

It is ironical that those with least to shout about are screaming the loudest.
One, the chairman for vice on this committee is talking about examples. A word in your private Herr Major, get some real time in. As for the other Councillor and the acts of desecration...what about that trip to Normandy when you left true Heroes behind and didn't have the courage to tell them?
Or was it the lovely veteran lady you insulted in Rhyl who exposed your words as meaningless. Shall I quote her? Why not: "Patronise me once more and I will slap your face." Forgotten; when you were trying to sell that insulting Veterans badge to those who wear real medals?
