One case too many of dog dirt disease

Blackpool Council's response was to put up signs. What!!! When did dogs learn to read.

There were incidents in Blackpool of parvo virus but that has all been forgotten.

It shows a bad light on all dog owners and this is wrong. I have one lady neighbour who not only carries a poop scoopers but also the strong chemicals to clean up after she has removed the offending pile. The shame is that she is in the minority and the reckless dog owners are ruining it for everyone, least of all this little girl who may lose her eyesight.

Eye threat to Manchester toddler who fell in dog mess

A toddler who fell in dog dirt in a children's playground at a Manchester park may have lost partial sight in one of her eyes.

Suzanne and Amiee Langdon
Amiee had been playing on a slide moments before falling in the dog mess and wiping her eye.

Amiee Langdon was admitted to the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital after wiping her eye with the mess after falling in it at Platt Fields Park.

She was treated for toxocariasis, a potentially lethal disease carried in dog faeces which can also blind.

Dog owners are responsible for their dog's mess and they've got to realise that it can be devastating and wreck lives”

  1. A little girl lost her sight due to toxocariasis contracted through dog dirt in Revoe park some years ago.
Yet Blackpool Council do nothing to stop doggy fouling except put up a few small ineffective signs.
