Disabled People - Bus Passes
If you are a disabled person living in Blackpool, you may be eligible for free travel on any local bus service anywhere in England after 9.30am and before 11pm Monday to Friday and all day on Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays.
If you are eligible, you will also be allowed to travel free between 9.30am and 11pm Monday to Friday and all day on Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays on the trams in both Blackpool and Wyre, on any local bus service. You may also use your pass to get half fare travel on the Rideability Dial-a-Ride service in Blackpool.
From 5 October 2008, Disabled NoWcard holders from Blackpool, Blackburn with Darwen and Lancashire will be entitled to a 50p flat fare concession on local bus services before 0930 Mondays to Fridays on all journeys starting or ending in these areas.
Travel before 0930 at weekends and bank holidays remains free to all NoWcard holders.
Visitors to Blackpool
If you are a visitor to Blackpool and hold a National Concessionary bus pass issued by a District Council in England you are entitled to free travel on any local bus service between 9.30am and 11pm Monday to Friday and all day Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays.
As neighbouring Concessionary Travel areas may have different conditions, please check with your own Council before travelling for more guidance on using your card in other areas.
Passes are not valid on buses or trams outside the times stated above.
If you reside in Scotland or Wales, your pass is not valid at all in England.
On Blackpool buses, and I should imagine every other authority
in the country, your Spas Pass is not valid after 2300 hours. So, when your bus leaves early and you are
left waiting for the last bus, make certain you have sufficient funds to cover
the full fare.
If you phone up to enquire you are told that the regulations
are on the back of your pass.
Well, they are not.
Nor are the correct regulations published on the web site(above).
But wait. Before 0930hrs,
Spasses like me pay a flat rate! Isn’t
2301hrs before 0930hrs?
