Mayors Fund disappears in Blackpool

Who has stolen the Mayor's Fund?

A Fund was put in place by our forefathers to benefit Blackpool Service people; those who enlisted through this, their home town, who then did service and was discharged back into the town. It was there to cover small emergencies so that the people of the town could show an instant, yet discreet sign of appreciation to its own.

There are still Veterans alive who qualify if their needs require. But, just as when the local administrators and cabals got together with the much disliked Veterans week, no-one asked the individual veterans their opinions.

In 2004 it was understood amongst charity workers within the service sector, that there was about £5000 still available through the Mayors Fund. Like Alibaba it has disappeared in a world of paper transactions and indifference. That money belongs to the Veterans of Blackpool who were born in the town, did service in WWII and after discharge returned to their families. Not councillors, service cabals or any other Shop or the like who can make false claims on this small but significant amount.

Letters have been sent to Council leader Simon Blackburn asking for an investigation from more than one source and we reserve judgment. It is interesting to discover that one of the guardians of this account is suing a former comrade for libel. I hope his legal advisors have informed him that before he opens his mouth in a court he does not commit perjury and that past actions will be taken into consideration. Ten years of research cannot produce a single incident that allows the eulogy - Hero.

  1. The art of prestidigitation as practised by Blackpool Council would
put the late great Tommy Cooper to shame-give them all a fez.
