Riots in London

PROTESTS against the G20 summit turned violent last night when protesters stormed the Royal Bank of Scotland in Bishopsgate, in London's financial district.

Riot police could be seen inside the bank trying to prevent more demonstrators from entering the building, as other protesters threw missiles including bottles, cans and shoes at police outside.

Baton-wielding police forced back several hundred other protesters who tried to breach heavy police lines. One officer was seen with blood gushing from a head wound after the physical clashes and the pelting of police with beer cans, fruit and debris.

What terrible reporting. This is nothing more than a Saturday afternoon stroll (albeit Wednesday). It's tame compared to the booze fuelled nights in every British town and village since Labour took a no-nonsense attitude towards the decline of public behaviour (sic). Yes. That was tongue in cheek.
