True face of the Armed Forces

Armed Forces employ 7,000 foreigners

Britain's growing "foreign legion" - equal to almost a dozen Army regiments - has led to renewed warnings that the Forces are struggling to retain and recruit British citizens to their ranks. The figures emerged as the House of Commons defence committee launched an inquiry into recruitment and retention in the Armed Forces and they follow growing criticism of the Government's alleged under-resourcing of the military.

Earlier this month, The Daily Telegraph disclosed that one in 14 soldiers is unfit to fight as a result of being sick or injured - almost 7,000 infantrymen.

What is really appalling about these statistics is the attitude of the politician to the plight of the serviceman once his contract is over. Whilst the men in uniform are risking their all on the battlefields, the MP is cheating the exchequer with dubious financial claims for expenses not earned.
Have you checked your MP's expenses lately? No. Well the Speaker of the House is determined that you do not. Ask your MP why?
