His announcement comes after the Speaker of the House of Commons refused to bow to mounting pressure to disclose full details of MPs' taxpayer-funded expenses. Michael Martin blocked publication of a list of MPs' staff in 2006 and his spokesman said last night that he had "no intention" of reversing the decision.
