New Year debate

When Hazel Blears opens her mouth, everyone listens. You really have no choice. If you have never experienced her idea of communication then it is Hazel shouts, rants and burbles and you can’t get a word in edgeways, witness her last appearance on Question Time. What she has done though, is allow cynics like me to have my pennyworth.

Four years ago Blackpool Council, then a Labour shambles, put out a consultation document regarding housing. No matter how they answered challenges or clarification, that document clearly made out as if former service personnel would come after immigrants on the proposed housing list because of the points system proposed. To add insult to injury, Housing Associations in Blackpool were canvassing their tenants with a survey that was intrusive if not illegal. The categories included (a) Sexual Orientation (b) Religion (c) Ethnicity (d) Disability (e) Communication. I have recently received another circular which has every language under the sun except Klingon and Fanegalore – why should the non terrestrial aliens be left out?

I am not a supporter of the Human Rights Act as it was possibly unnecessary as the UK was already a signatory of the European Convention of Human Rights in the 1954 Agreement. But as it has been enacted the articles on Freedom of Family and Religion appear to make such a survey illegal. As it is, as I was never asked anything like these insidious questions when I joined the Royal Marines as a 16 year old, I feel morally indignant and refuse to take part in any such frivolous and costly nosey parkering. Had they asked the simple question, are you a legal resident? I would have forwarded them my service papers, my father’s navy records, my mother’s work document from her time in the aircraft factories, my grandfathers WW1 history of the Lancashire Fusiliers and the Highland Regiment, and my gt, gt, gt, gt, grandmothers record of being the only woman Marine to serve the navy – sorry, in the navy in battle. How damned insulting these people are!!! Why? Because they dare not ask an illegal immigrant such a basic question because it infringes with their Human Rights.

If I want to have a passionate night in with my latex mistress, that is no concern of Queen, god or the bloody Council or it’s surrogate emanations. What I want to know is that my neighbour is not planning to blow me to pieces, that their privileges do not exceed mine, that my family has to do without because monies is being sidelined for future swathes of immigration. My service was for my people, not those who have spent my entire working life trying to murder me and my own. Explaining this to those who have never served their country is like trying to discuss the virtues of good wine to an alcoholic.

One simple question to politicians. If the troops are fighting in Afghanistan to prevent the Britain becoming awash with Heroin, why are not the recipients of this insidious drug being charge with accessory to murder?

Blears facing the truth.

White working class 'feels

ignored on immigration'

Ms Blears said that people must be allowed to speak their mind on the subject without fear of being branded racist.

Politicians must listen and respond to the concerns that some white people have about changes to their communities, she added.

Ms Blears said more candid discussion was needed to prevent myths about people from ethnic minorities "jumping the queue" for housing and services being allowed to circulate. Careful, she is already spinning from reality.

This odious little self-publicist has jumped on the band-wagon of fact, terrified that the opponents of unrestricted immigration might just be getting heard-at last.
This popularist little bag has been one of this Governments supporters in chief. So when asked what are you going to do about falling pensions, ruined bank savings, escalating rail fares, massive increases in all service charges, I suppose you'll fall back on the trusted 'blame the Conservatives' policy?
Not only has she and her party been wrong about everything they have done for the past 12 years, but they brag about it.
Wake up Britain and kick them into the middin along with the Conservatives. Note carefully how she has, even in this snippet, attempted to blame the indigenous people for the policies of her regime.

Deepest sympathy to family and friends.

Corporal Liam Elms RM

When you read about the celebs snorting the drugs that are financing this war, spare a moment for the real men who are fighting the tides of the West's insatiable addictions.
When you see pictures of Kate Moss going into re-hab, financing the worthless shits she has sex with, remember real heroes.

All thought are with the families of serving members of HM Forces and their families and friends.

Yorkie Gravy Train

Pity poor Richard Corbett. The Labour MEP for Yorkshire and the euro wonk's wonk in chief found himself a little embarrassed on his way back from Strasbourg last week.
A conductor approached him, asked for his ticket and informed him that he had a penalty fare to pay as he was travelling without a valid ticket.
He has also taken this trip ever since being elected in 1996. So that 15 euro one way does start to look quite a wheeze, 30 euros each round trip. Corbett being a conscientious chap would rarely have missed a visit, so that is twelve a year over the last 12 years. Sum total? Approximately 4,300 euros. Not a great deal I know, but for one of the great finger pointers of the Parliament quite an oversight.
Now, it could well have been a one off, I really don't know. But maybe we should be told?

Guaranteed Minimum

Pension (GMP) -

Error In Calculation

The Service Personnel and Veterans Agency (SPVA) is sorry to have to inform Veteran Customers that an error has been identified in respect of a small proportion of Armed Forces Pension Scheme 75 (AFPS 75) pension payments. This error is in respect of the application of the Guaranteed Minimum Pension (GMP) element of the pensions of some 6,000 members of AFPS 75.

Finally, SPVA would like to apologise again for this error. We are doing everything we can to correct this pension error, and provide you with the actual figures involved as quickly as possible. There is a helpline available and the number is 0845 121 2514. Unfortunately SPVA will be unable to supply you with any GMP figures at the moment but will write to you in late March or April 2009 when we anticipate being in a position to inform you of any change to your pension.

It is a farce. Ever since a previous Government was allowed to get away with Scrooging veterans out of their entitlements under the 1973 Social Services and Pensions Act, pensions have been a laughing stock.
When most former regulars lick the ass of former generals, they should remember it was these highly pensioned frauds who did nothing to secure the pensions of the man in the line. Now they have well paid employment with charities and other institutions whilst the soldier does his bit for nothing more than to know he is doing something for a comrade - without remuneration. When RBL spouts about the Charity it does, it does not tell you that the Area Officer is on over £30K per annum. Not bad on top of a pension?

India v. Pakistan, and it definitely aint cricket

Pakistan moves troops, tension to border with India

The troops headed to the Indian border were being diverted away from tribal areas near Afghanistan, officials said, and the move was expected to frustrate the United States which has been pushing Pakistan to step up its fight against al-Qaida and Taliban militants near the Afghan border.

A senior security official confirmed that soldiers were being moved out of the border area, but said it was "a limited number from areas where they were not engaged in any operation."

Read into this what you want. Two nuclear armed countries face off across an acrimonious border and Pakistan seems to be taking troops from the Afghan border to it's neighbour in the South. What does it mean? Cheaper drugs for those who put dollars into the pockets of those who are murdering British, American and Nato soldiers in Afghanistan.
