Secret Accounts? Not in Blackpool, Shirley.

For those new to this blog I have attached the former Rules of the Fylde Ex Services Liaison Committee as the present executive have deemed it necessary to change the rules to suit their nefarious activities.  The way this executive behaved has been clearly exposed by the recording of one of their secret meetings for which, like many official meetings, there are no verifiable minutes.

To that I will  highlight statements made by the late Jim Houldsworth (on that recording) . " We have a Secret Account.  We have another account, but that money can be spent 5 times over.  I’ve been waiting for the council to send me a bill – but when they do I’ll be making up the rest of it
Well like when we had the Cenotaph done (?) Fylde Ex Service Liaison was committed to paying to some of it.  We committed at that time erm and we’re now waiting for the Council to bill us for it.
I’m hoping, hoping the council don’t uncover it and it slides through.
The only problem we’ve then got, all these people knowing that Fylde Ex owes this money, it leaks to the Press that you know that the council not sending its bills (?)...You see what I mean ...If it gets out of this room, its goes to urm  it doesn’t necessarily goes to the press ... They happen to mention it to their local councillor who goes along and sees Weaver and ses..  Why have we not… we’ve got all this money…£30.000(thirty thousand pounds).

Two Councillors, one a JP, discussing illegally held and probably acquired revenues, as a Charity when it is said on more than one occasion in this recording that the Fylde ex Service Liaison Committee has no Charity Status.  It appears that much of this money was donated by Forces Charity for specific purposes.  Had the money not been spent for the reason donated, it ought to have been returned with Thanks to a generous benefactor.  Instead it appears that the Hero Major was intent to spend it to cover himself in more glory, with the Council, but not with real soldiers.  Perhaps a tour of duty in a fighting unit in a real war would have calmed his excesses, with his press friends and political allies.

Why are council officials and councillors so reluctant to investigate?  The police washed their hands of another councillor moving £5,000 into his wife's account?  It is the same laissez faire attitude that permits supposed charity collectors to make a profession of it whilst not supporting genuine and registered charities as run by Melanie Mullin.
As to the above, I draw the readers attention to section 16, Finance. Each Affiliated Association shall pay an Annual Fee to the Committee, the amount to be paid shall be determined each year at the Annual General Meeting.  ALL such monies received shall be applied in carrying out the objectives of the Committee as laid down in Standing Orders.
Don't be bashful, Executives of the FESLC!  Make your own rules up as you go along, or as you feel.  Open a shop maybe, or become a genuine Charity!  Perhaps.
I hear that Executive Members are scurrying around trying to trace all accounts.  Too little too late.  At least it may keep a couple of names out of the Queen's Jubilee Honours List.
