Where is Gordon now?

Drawing his wages for doing nothing! I would be charged with fraud for doing this.

Amplify’d from order-order.com

We are a week or two now short of having paid Gordon Brown to stay at home for six months writing his Beyond the Crash – How I Saved the World book. Guido has no objection to him embarking on a new career as a fiction writer, it is just that he sees no reason why the taxpayer should subsidise his writing.

He has only deigned to vote on one day since being rejected by the people, September 6. The only other day of attendance was to be sworn in, effectively to clock on for his pay.

He has not seen fit to give us the benefit of his experience during the debates on the Spending Review, the Emergency Budget or in fact any other subject. If he is saving it all up for his book than he should have the courage to resign and move on.

Russian words of experience

Make your own minds up. But remember, the Russian did something the West could not do, put 100,000 troops into Kabul during a blizzard. Even with their tremendous fire-power they could not beat a homogeneous people fighting in their own back yard.

Has anything changed?

Gorbachev: Nato victory in Afghanistan impossible

The former leader of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev, has warned Nato that victory in Afghanistan is impossible.

Mr Gorbachev said that the US had no alternative but to withdraw its forces if it wanted to avoid another Vietnam.

As Soviet leader, he pulled his troops out of Afghanistan more than 20 years ago after a 10-year war.

He praised President Barack Obama for his decision to begin withdrawing troops next year, but said the US would struggle to get out of the situation.

Thoughtless boundary changes

Eleanor Laing is wrong, so wrong it is unbelievable.

If she does not think that tinkering with County boundaries and Counties names has no effect, she has no recollection of history. When the faggot Prime Minister, Ted Heath, chopped swathes of land off Prime Shire, at a stroke he wrote a history than no true Lancastrian can stand. Manchester, Salford, Liverpool and Barrow in Furness, and many more places, are all part of ancient Lancashire.

Not according to the Post Office and a succession of British parliaments. We, the people, have had no say on it. The first step in an alien Nation? If the anti-British have their sway, yes!

MPs Chris Bryant and Eleanor Laing on boundary review

Labour MP Chris Bryant backs the Cornwall call to keep them separate from Devon when it comes to drawing Parliamentary boundaries, but Conservative MP Eleanor Laing is not so impressed.

There are changes planned to electoral boundaries, with the next Parliament likely to have fewer MPs all representing the same number of voters.

violence against the elderly

This incident ought to be page one in every newspaper in the land, but it is not.

The dross, the absolute sub human specie that has evolved through this failed social experiment which produced a host of Karen Matthews and Wendy Lewis's, will and does permit these atrocities to happen. Why? Because the Liberal minded so called intelligentsia has high-jacked the moral ground and shame the rest into doing nothing.

Enough is enough. Come on Mr Clark, do something constructive for once.

A 23-year-old man has today been charged with murder after the body of an 89-year-old war veteran was found in a house in Blackburn on Friday.

Stuart Young, of no fixed address, was remanded in custody when he appeared before Blackburn magistrates this afternoon over the death of Albert Fielding.

He is due to appear before Preston Crown Court on Thursday

A post-mortem investigation at the weekend revealed he died as a result of serious head injuries which police believe he sustained during a ‘serious and violent attack’.

David Cameron talks to GMTV

David Cameron
David Cameron

AC: And now we've got another one here, we've got Bill Wiggin who has claimed money for a mortgage that doesn't exist, or didn't exist. What's your view on that one? If Sir Peter is gone, surely Bill Wiggin must follow – he's a whip.

DC: Well in this case I'm not sure the Telegraph have got this right. I mean my team went through with Bill Wiggin very carefully yesterday what has happened. He has given us every assurance that every penny he claimed should have been claimed and it does look like it is – look it's a bad mistake – but it looks like it's an honest mistake and he was not claiming money that he wasn't entitled to. Now if he was, that would be totally different and he would be out of the door. But my understanding is...

AC: He signed 23 statements for Parliamentary officials to claim that his second home was in Herefordshire – and it wasn't, it was in London.

DC: Well he has two homes because he's a Member of Parliament representing a Herefordshire seat and so his family live both in Herefordshire and in London. He made what I understand is an honest mistake. If it wasn't an honest mistake – he would be out the door as well, be it no doubt about it.

Planning officials acted against Beverley Akciecek, 49, after being told her next door neighbour's Muslim friends had felt ''physically sick'' due to the ''foul odour.''

The fan has been in Beverley's Snack Shack takeaway in the Shaw Heath area of the town for the past three years.

And the mother-of-seven whose husband Cetin, 50, is himself a Turkish Muslim
work more than fifty hours a week buying, preparing and cooking hot and cold
sandwiches and hot-pots for their customers.

But neighbour Graham Webb-Lee complained that his Muslim friends refused to
visit him because they ''can't stand the smell of bacon.''

Defence review or White Flag purchase

£31billion black-hole already in Defence Spending and Labour cannot explain what this observer has been writing about for the past fourteen years. Six months out of office and they have forgotten that they, Labour, signed these ridiculous contracts with clauses that a two year old could expose. And Labour defenders rant about the mess the the Coalition Government is trying - badly- to solve.

Get the troops out of the Middle East, re-arm them with weapons that kill and not the ineffectual 556 small arms, have them man the borders of this island race and educate the types of Wendy Lewis and Sharon Matthews that the Welfare State is a Safety Net and not a Life Style.

From Buenos Aires to Tehran, from Moscow to Beijing, the governments of countries that do not always have our best interests at heart are scouring the small print of this week's British defence review. Their aim is to find chinks in our military armour that can be exploited to their own advantage. It won't take them long.

It is all very well for David Cameron and his Coalition Government to assure us that, by 2020, we will have a properly balanced and effective military infrastructure that is capable of dealing with any threat to our national security.

Phantom deleter at work in Blackpool Press

In the 1960's the government allowed massive immigration rather than challenge the problems of declining industry with modernisation. The result was twofold, the loss of industry abroad to cheap labour countries and ghetto Britain with millions of immigrants as in Germany and other European Countries.

In 1975 the Labour Government stole the pensions from thousands of servicemen and the country was silent. Today it happened to most other workers and there is anxiety. No-one listened to the warning voices of reason from Brits working abroad. The scream is for cheap housing and social homes, but hardly a worry about infrastructure incapable of carrying the excess; water, waste and electricity. It is almost too late to talk whilst you vote for self interested politicians. Conservatives (according to Channel 4) have their trust funds, Labour have their few overpaid Union Moguls. They are both the same reflection from the Mirror of Horrors, but few can see it. (read Gazette)

The Blackpool Gazette allows deletion before anyone can contribute into today's major story. That is a marker to the Free Press!

500,000 Jobs to go

What was expected? Having bought into Liebers' lies and reckless economics the rest have to accept the inevitable.

Why are the Cuntservatives now determined to stop some families from living in social housing all their lives? Because they become prisoners to the system. If you default on rates, speeding fines or your TV license, the full weight of the law can enter your premises and hold you to ransom for any debts, even if you are aged and suffering dementia.

If you reside in social housing you at least have a few defences; NOT WITH AN ENORMOUS MORTGAGE ROUND YOUR NECK.

MoD Pays Tribute To Dead Marine

It is with regret that the Ministry of Defence must confirm today that Royal Marine Corporal Seth Stephens was killed in southern Afghanistan on 1 July 2010.

Corporal Seth Stephens was a truly popular man. He was blessed with the innate ability to brighten the darkest room; he also possessed a disarming sense of humour. Measured and thoughtful, his strength came from a depth of experience and knowledge that he was keen to share with others.

At the request of Corporal Stephens' family no further information was released regarding his death in July, but now, again at their request, we have published the above tribute and image.

Accrington pensioner's death not investigated

I thank the people for their welcome comments and would like to clarify some points.
There is a Code of Conduct in place for bailiffs and in this case they ignored 5 of the seven basic rules. The bailiff's remit was to test the veracity of vulnerability sought by the family, but instead he appeared to want his commission over the welfare of a seriously ill man. Heart attack victims are supposed to be protected from STRESS for three months after an incident of myocardium, but again the bailiff was at Andy's wallet within two weeks of discharge. One glance at the flawed Ministry of Justice report shows that the Courts had an order against Andy's pension refused by DWP. It may be assumed that they considered Andy had not enough to live on.
The police did not take into account a logged report of the same bailiff masquerading as a police officer. An identical 'uniform' that the bailiff was wearing- according to police logs- was that of Strathclyde Police. This is a serious arrestable offence with a tariff of five years imprisonment, but the police claim that because Andy's children did not make a complaint there is no charge to investigate. So why was it logged?
If you think this is an isolated incident, you are wrong. The Times and this noble paper have reams of stories where the courts agents act beyond their powers. Even with the weight of evidence, the Labour Government gave bailiffs draconian powers of entry and seizure. When the system is proven wrong, and I mean everyone from the Minister of Justice YOUR Jack Straw to the policeman who wrote the coroners report, the rapidity that the miscreants dived for cover would be advantageous for our brave troops in Afghanistan.
The evidence of Malfeasance is strong and it is about time an impartial inquiry was held especially as the main witnesses to this debacle have not yet, 22 months on, been interviewed.
Well done, Emma Cruces and the Lancashire Telegraph.

Police face probe over Accrington pensioner death complaints

POLICE officers’ conduct will be examined amid claims they did not properly investigate a bailiff over a pensioner’s death.

Andy Miller, 78, from Accrington, collapsed and died from a heart attack after being taken to a cashpoint in Union Road by a bailiff to
pay an overdue speeding fine in January last year.

A formal Independent Police Complaints Commission investigation has seen Lancashire police rapped for failing to deal with a relative’s complaints over their investigation. Complaints say officers failed to:
