Lancashire cutting bus routes

Sweeping Blackburn and Darwen bus cuts announced

SERVICES are being axed and drivers laid off as part of sweeping changes affecting every bus route in Blackburn and Darwen.

Some areas will be left without any bus link as Lancashire United looks to shave more than £1million from its budget.

Residents in areas affected have been left ‘disgusted’ by the changes.

This is happening right across the country. The sound idea of pensioners riding free on empty busses has been badly abused, not by pensioners, but by inept officials who cannot organise a piss up in a brewery. No Lancashire breweries? Okay!
What elderly passengers need is certainty, a strict timetable and a recognition that they have already paid for everything that this government offers as privilege.
