Traumatised veterans' fight for care

Darren Wright looked destined for a successful military career, decorated for bravery in Afghanistan and an army boxing champion.

Wright, a 33-year-old father-of-five, used to take gifts to Afghanistan for the local children when he was on peacekeeping duties but became extremely distressed at having to move and bury the bodies of little children caught in the crossfire of battle.

It is a disgrace.
Civilians can never understand the trauma of such events. In the 'Army' you develop a defensive mechanism called cynicism. So when I challenge an MP who is an expert on terrorism, but has never been closer than 200 yards to an 'incident', call it cynical, irony or whatever. It is the only weapon left for a veteran to say you are talking through your backsides. Except arseholes are forms of sexual attraction to many deviant MP's. To veterans they are the pillars of hate who talk the talk but do nothing for the last generation of heroes who need help.
The bigger the disgrace is that the Government has put in place individuals who have no concept of the need of veterans, i.e. Gordon Marsden MP and Joan Humble MP, to care for the needs of veterans.
There can be no greater insult since the Labour Government of the early 70's stole Forces Pensions from them.
