Ukip delegate for the Blackpool Highfield Ward

Long time caseworker for Service Charity Stephen Flanigan has decided enough is enough and will stand for the UK Independence Party against the established parties.

Stephen Flanigan, former Devonshire Road then Tyldesley Secondary Modern school pupil has spent most of his adult life working overseas in countries as far away as Borneo, Rhodesia, Spain, Germany, Australia and all parts of Southern Africa.  He worked in a myriad of jobs from senior diving instructor to running the security of a country's essential electricity supply, then in the midst of a bush war.

Here is one episode from his long and diverse life that needs to be published.  It has been suppressed for fear of embarrassment to some, but as we enter an epoch where enlightenment means openness and matters like the horrendous Sir Jimmy Savile debacle need no longer cloud issues that ought to be acted against, you may get an insight into the man who is definitely not a Party apparatchik.

The Himba, a magnificent and handsome race who live along the Cunene River  (Portuguese spelling) or Kunene River (Namibian spelling) on the Namibian/Angolan border were being decimated by the ancient disease of syphilis.

The casual attitude to and naivety towards sex amongst these primitive people was sickeningly exploited by the purveyors of abuse now prevalent across the World today, the Stuart Halls and Jimmy Savile's of the time.  With the help of the South African Defence Force's medical doctors and nurses, there was put in place a two year screening and inoculation process that, at that time, eradicated the disease from the tribes.

Forming a strong bond, Steve employed all the males to act as scouts and lookouts against Swapo insurgents into what was then South West Africa.  Providing good medical facilities and ensuring plentiful supplies of maize and other essential foods - in a country ravaged by drought - meant that Steve could securely supply the much needed electricity from the Ruacana hydro plant to the capital city of Windhoek and the growing enclave at Katutura and even further afield to the Diamond Regions south of Luderitz.

This one incident of time shows Stephen’s ability to co-ordinate across a wide section of services, also his caring side whilst defending with arms the security of an emerging nation.  It also indicates that along with his recent record as a caseworker, for individuals in need in the Fylde area, his history makes his candidature a welcome addition as against the usual mundane and inexperienced Party yes men forced on us.

There will be more as we get closer to this election.

How not to spin

Candidate declarations are not due to be released for the Highfield Ward, Blackpool, until next week, but Labour, hard on the heels of the retreat of the ineffectual incumbent Councillor Chris "Who" Maughan have jumped the gun and started canvassing in the ward.

The spin doctors have a premature ejaculation.  If they wanted to do the job properly they ought to stolen a leaf from this Australian publication.

No matter what side of the political fence you're on, THIS is FUNNY and VERY telling! It just all depends on how you look at the same things. How to 'spin' politically!!

Judy Rudd an amateur genealogy researcher in south east Queensland, was doing some personal work on her own family tree. She discovered that ex-Prime Minister Kevin Rudd’s great-great uncle, Remus Rudd, was hanged for horse stealing and train robbery in Melbourne in 1889. Both Judy and Kevin Rudd share this common ancestor.

The only known photograph of Remus shows him standing on the gallows at the Melbourne Jail.

On the back of the picture Judy obtained during her research is this inscription:

'Remus Rudd horse thief, sent to Melbourne Jail 1885, escaped 1887, robbed the Melbourne-Geelong train six times.

Caught by Victoria Police Force, convicted and hanged in 1889.'

So Judy recently e-mailed ex-Prime Minister Rudd for information about their great-great uncle, Remus Rudd.

Believe it or not, Kevin Rudd's staff sent back the following biographical sketch for her genealogy research:

"Remus Rudd was famous in Victoria during the mid to late 1800s. His business empire grew to include acquisition of valuable equestrian assets and intimate dealings with the Melbourne-Geelong Railroad..

Beginning in 1883, he devoted several years of his life to government service, finally taking leave to resume his dealings with the railroad.

In 1887, he was a key player in a vital investigation run by the Victoria Police Force. In 1889, Remus passed away during an important civic function held in his honour when the platform upon which he was standing collapsed."

NOW That’s how it's done, Folks!

That's real POLITICAL SPIN.
The Labour leaflet is just bull. To understand why, read Philtheone (just click the link).

Talking about Democracy

Mugabe and his family decided to go on vacation to celebrate his election victory.
Grace, his wife, John, his son, and Sarah, his daughter, wanted to go to the Bahamas but Mugabe wanted to go to Dubai. So the 4 of them decided to vote and the result was as follows:
Bahamas: 3
Dubai: 68

Sing along, folks

As the World turns on its axis, voices can and should be raised at the pathetic, low level of politics.  As Parliament starts to ruminate over what military action should be taken in Syria, nothing is being done about the obscene level of personal debt, national debt, mass immigration, mass emigration of British middle class, literacy, the destruction of Britain's wonderful countryside, false promises and or the lies by generation after generation of professional politician.

The people en masse have become like the battered housewife.  Irrespective of the beatings, the promises that it will never happen again, promises that it will all be better if only you LOVE us; trust in them they do.  Why?  It is that sentimental hogwash that makes people say that because their fathers beat their mothers, their children, their neighbours and their friends, that they can do the same to every one else?  When a voice is raised saying that this is wrong, that their first responsibility is to themselves, then their family and finally to each other, that lone voice of reason and sanity is accused of every vice and malice that the perpetrators have in abundance.  Irrespective of how you try to persuade the victim that it is up to them to make the decision that enough is enough, for some unexplainable truth the battered wife invariable sneaks back for another beating, just on the off chance that she can change the monster into a loving cuddly creature.  The Big Three are not going to change as they have wallowed in the same cesspit together for too long.

Perhaps when Tony Blair is charged with War Crimes some disciples might believe that Hallelujah, the Labour Party has a chance of redemption.  Until then the rest of us will just have to search for Knights capable of slaying the Three Dragons of local politics.

Blackpool Highfield Ward may have found a Knight in its Ukip nominee to replace the ineffectual Labour Councillor, Chris Maughan.  Now it is up to the battered wife to tell the wife beaters that enough is enough.

Gone to the Wind

The Daily Telegraph has learnt that a new Government row over wind farms is blocking a report that could provide official confirmation that the controversial turbines can harm rural areas.  Sources have said that the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) — run by Ed Davey, a Liberal Democrat — wants to stop Owen Paterson, the Conservative Environment Secretary, publishing a major report that he has commissioned on renewable energy and the rural economy.
Mr Paterson, a known opponent of onshore wind farms, is understood to be furious at the attempts to stifle his department and is said to be “determined” to publish the findings. In June, he said that onshore turbines were often regarded as a “complete scam”.
Opponents of wind farms claim that they are unsightly and are an inefficient method of energy generation.
Sources in the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) tonight claimed that figures in Mr Davey’s department were more concerned about “ideology” than scientific evidence. “This is our department,” a source said. “We are doing this report. It is part of our remit.”

Whilst police now struggle with protesters against drilling in Balcombe, West Sussex, issues are being sidetracked by ignorance and ancient paranoia. Today we have a collective hate subject to rival and supersede the lunatic support of CND, pacifism against German Nazi expansion, child molesting priests, Labours illegal war in Iraq and every other subject where emotional fear over-rides facts. Even without any company action, the masses of hysteria are gathering to blame them for things that are probably occurring naturally.  The company in Balcombe is drilling for oil as has happened and continues to happen in sites across the South of England; the country is dependent on imported fuels, both oil and gas, yet we are denied by the loud mouths of even debating the matters.  In the North West concerned citizen created enough noise so that much needed supplies of natural gas cannot be stored in the salt-mines on the Fylde Coast.
In Balcombe some residents are blaming the drilling company for events close to the village with no forensic evidence that they are involved.  Stephen Nolan tried to interview one resident but she could provided not a scintilla of evidence that her concerns are justified.  Waffle replaced logic and evidence and sentimental poverty will banish economic necessity.
With the hideously ineffective, overly expensive wind farms there is reason for protest.  Not only are they an ugly carbuncle, they will never ever be economically viable.  Not just that, but when they are at the end of their life the countryside will be infested with thousands of concrete blocks that will be expensive to remove.  Again we are addressed with a situation we cannot honestly confront because of Parliament and vested interests of an industry that only wants our money.  Meanwhile ignorance reigns in the non-debate on the countries fuel requirements.
