Blackpool has lost one of its senior veterans with the sad demise of 90yo plus Eddie Smith, former Royal Marine PTI.  To Eddie's family and friends we offer our sincerest condolences and offer a last look at him at Derek Coyle's birthday bash in the Brun Grove Club in Blackpool.

Eddie was Lord Nelson's instructor when the latter was Colonel of Marines.  He was reputed to have shouted "I don't care where you lost your arm, do another press-up, Jack." for which the new historians have demanded his contribution to his beloved Corps should be expunged.
