Richard Hollington RM. KIA

Out of respect to Richard and his family, and all those who assist in Help for Heroes, this moment, this page and this article is for you.

This site is dedicated to the memory of our eldest son, Marine Richard Hollington, Royal Marines Commando who died, of wounds received on 12 Jun 2010 during Operation Herrick 12 in Afghanistan, on 20 June 2010 in New Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. He was the 300th serviceman to die on operations in Afghanistan since 2001. It is also dedicated to the other members of the 40 Commando “14″ who left parade early, and in particular Marine Steven Birdsall, Royal Marines Commando, who was in the same section as Rich, got hurt the very next day and came home in the same plane with Rich.
