Veterans Day in Rip Off Blackpool

Whilst almost four hundred former 42 Commando VETERANS were paying £4.00 a pint in the Norbreck Castle’s expensive front bar, a selective ELITE under the umbrella of the Fylde Ex-Services Liaison Committee were treating themselves to highly subsidised food and drinks – in the same Hotel but in adjacent rooms.

42 Commando Association have used the Norbreck for a few years and the rumbling of dissatisfaction at the expense and poor state of the Hotel is growing. This was amplified last night with the plethora of commemorative gongs on show and the high number of non veterans being subsidised whilst the former Commandos emptied their pockets and spent their well deserved pensions away from the subsidised gathering.

Some 42 Cdo members chose to attend a reception at the Guards Club and praise cannot be heaped high enough on Dek Taylor and his family for the hospitality given to fellow former Royal Marines.

  3. The more I hear and read about the FESLC, the more I curl in embarrassment at this organisation being part of our town. It is an absolute disgrace that these select few are allowed to get away with such disgraceful and disrespectful behaviour. It is high time that both, FESLC and the town’s steering committee for AFW, be cleansed of these people.
How these people can sleep easily at night, is beyond me. Bring in the national newspapers, that should sort them out.

  4. Church parade last Sunday. Wendy Lewis Playground - Veteran Bootneck pushing Mr President of the local RMA when a bogus major called out for the chairs to keep line and distance. "F**K *f* " said Old Royal.
There were gasps from the cadets nearby and others. "Well he's not a real major, "added Old Royal.
"He's not!!!!" echoed the fellow helpers. "Just like all those fake medals being worn back here!"

  5. Anonymous-your views of the FESLC pale into insignificance to mine.
This organisation was and I repeat was, reasonably pro-Blackpool and pro-tourism. Its decline came about with the infiltration of two councillors (now no longer such) i.e. Mineur and Bell. Egotistical doesn't come any where near describing them in my view. However, they only achieved that because the members of the FESLC from all the various associations within the town, are so sub-servient and are unable to see when they are being led down the garden path. Now the FESLC is riddled with rampant hypocrisy and the future for the ex-service community is questionable - who would want to support an organisation that uses bullying as a tactic?

  6. Flanker, where were you when the Paint Ball Major was writing secret letters to his fellow Cabalier to silence the Welfare officer of the local RMA? You could just imagine Fake Hero with the Kensington Clanger sitting round a half lit table, counting all the pennies PENSIONERS thought were going into Forces Charities, smoking expensive cigars and scheming their way into another sinecure. And all the time those REAL charity workers that the cabal has tried to cower into silence are waiting for their former comrades to click on that just because this insidious cabal says they are perfect....????
Their defence, have another FUCKING CHURCH PARADE.
    Enough is enough.
No more Church Parades for we non believers, and get the Fuck away from OUR Remembrance Day. And tell those councillors that Veterans Week is not theirs.

  7. I saw the writing on the wall long before the proverbial hit the fan and walked. As a result my reputation is untouched by it all.
My three pet hates:- politicians, hypocrisy and whingers. From 1963 until 1972 I served my Queen and Country and proud to do so. No disrespect to any Royal Marine, BUT as the Cenotaph Parade every November is not started with the Royal Marines, why should the RM Branch in Blackpool demand they should do so in the town? There were Infantry as marines fighting on ships many years before the RM were formed - 100% fact.

  8. Please direct all complaints to rtd Brigadier Charlie Hobson RMA Head Office for Blackpool indiscretions and all points around- one size fits all Association, otherwise the direct descendent of Charles (Stewart) II for the history and the 28th October 1664 Order-in-Council issued calling for 1200 soldiers to be recruited for service in the Fleet, to be known as the Duke of York and Albany's Maritime Regiment of Foot. As the Duke of York was The Lord High Admiral, it became known as the Admiral's Regiment. Address, Buck House, London.
    Have a nice day. :)P
