What intellectual stupidity. Whatever this country can do to ease world pollution is nothing compared to the damage being done in China, India, The USA and Brazil.

The poor in this country cannot afford these bright ideas. Pensioners and people on small incomes just do not have the capacity to have more of their meagre incomes going out on fuel, poverty will accelerate their misery.

Great thinking, now submit it to the bottom draw with all the other lunatic ideas.

Chris Huhne, the Energy Secretary, will outline government plans today to encourage energy companies to develop low-carbon power plants, including nuclear power stations and wind farms.
