Suspect charity shop - Open for Business

Blackpool's local newspaper, the Evening Gazette, has removed the comments column from its article supporting the contentious Theft From Heroes shop/business/charity.

Having, for several years past, portrayed one of the central figures as the local HERO, it is inconceivable that they have suddenly realized that they have been backing the wrong party. It doesn't take a legal genius to realise that their initial report contained so precise a series of accusations of malfeasance that public scrutiny was going to make it impossible for any subsequent fair trial, therefore probably placing themselves open for criminal sanctions?

The shop remains open because it takes the authorities too long to investigate anything. The first thing the police and OFT will do is make certain that any neglect in law is not reflected on their actions. Any immediate action to close the premises could be construed as the place being used for improper purposes, and you don't have to be Ann Summers to register on that meter.

If the Council was to draw double yellow lines outside the shop you can guarantee that some jobsworth parking attendant will be issuing tickets galore and the jingle of the festival cash tills would be pleasing the Town Hall mandarins . Until then, any misdeeds is all the responsibility of that fellow in the yellow tunic.
