They have spent twenty years walking smugly up Dogpoop Road and have not had the savvy or eloquence to form an argument or opposition. Whilst 60% of the people do not participate in the politics of their council, whomever leads has no mandate.
The town is full of intelligent, vibrant and innovative younger people. Where are they represented amongst the Council members?
Everyone now takes cheap flights to Benidorm and Ibiza and it costs a fraction of a stag weekend in this famous old resort. This has been known since cheap continental holidays arrived at Squires Gate Airport - and Manchester. What has the Council done for the past FORTY YEARS? Nothing. Both Labour and Conservatives are culpable for the demise of this once wonderful town.

Middlesbrough has come top of a poll of worst places to live in the UK, with Blackpool named as the 11th.
Middlesbrough has been given the undesirable title thanks to high crime levels, severe drug and health problems, and poor education results.
Researchers have ranked the best and worst UK places for the Channel 4 show Location, Location, Location. Hull is second, followed by Newham in east London.
Other Lancashire towns and cities in the top 20 worst list include Manchester at 17th and Burnley at 19th.
