One of Britain's most wanted men slipped his handcuffs and fled after appearing at a court in Islamabad, Pakistan, where his lawyers were protesting against requests for his extradition. Last night two policemen were being questioned about the incident.

How some counter inflationary fuel bills?

clipped from www.telegraph.co.uk

Heating bills to soar for millions of Britons

One million households face soaring heating bills as a result of the surging price of oil on the global markets.

Many families will have to pay an extra £400 to heat their homes and fuel their cookers because of sharp hikes in the price of central heating oil.

Oil has traded consistently above $90 a barrel during December, with many analysts speculating that it is only a matter of time before the $100 barrier is breached.

Not only oil prices have spiraled, but all domestic fuel costs.
One disabled former regular has seen his fuel bills almost double in the past twelve months, even though some fuels, gas in particular, has fallen dramatically. The only action of MP's, is to guard against inflation for themselves and go for a ten percent pay hike and the additional increases to their unwarranted pensions when former soldiers are living in poverty.
And people vote for them?

Syrian planning belated Xmas Party?

British Intelligence has been ordered not to profile suspected terrorists. Instead they are to seek out ancient Anglo-Saxons wearing bowler hats and wearing numerous campaign medals, carrying modem lap-tops which should be stolen by any friendly Al or Qaida on the British security payroll.

Man accused of planning a terrorist attack

A man appeared in court on Christmas Eve accused of planning a terrorist attack.

Hassan Muhammed Sabri al-Tabbakh, 38, is accused of stock-piling chemicals and compiling bomb-making instructions.

Al-Tabbakh, of Syrian origin, was arrested near his home in Birmingham on Dec 18. He was questioned for four days before being charged under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006 with "conduct for the preparation of an intention to commit an act of terrorism."

His lawyer said he spoke good English but had post-traumatic stress disorder and was "agitated" in police custody prior to the hearing.

In Kentucky’s Teeth, Toll of Poverty and Neglect

BARBOURVILLE, Ky. — In the 18 years he has been visiting nursing homes, seeing patients in his private practice and, more recently, driving his mobile dental clinic through Appalachian hills and hollows, Dr. Edwin E. Smith has seen the extremes of neglect.

Dr. Smith has a rare window on a state with the highest proportion of adults under 65 without teeth, where about half the population does not have dental insurance. He struggles to counter the effects of the drastic shortage of dentists in rural areas and oral hygiene habits that have been slow to change.

Not only in Britain but in the wealthiest nation on earth, ordinary people are finding it extraordinarily difficult in basic hygiene, or getting access to basic needs. In the USA where many just do not care for their fellow man and that is beyond Christmas, the philosophy of me me me is proving as corrupt as the opposite culture of state socialism. In UK, where medical facilities can barely cope with the numbers of ill people, there are still advocates of a policy that says we can afford help to everyone who needs it. A LIBERAL PIPE DREAM and economic lunacy.

THOUSANDS of convicted foreign drug dealers, thieves and fraudsters are being allowed to stay in Britain because the Government has "no interest" in deporting them, it was claimed today.
It states that "as a rule" the immigration officials will not eject foreigners sentenced to under 12 months – unless the courts have recommended them for deportation.
"The result will be that foreign thieves, fraudsters, burglars and drugs dealers will be released back into the community," he said.

Memo sparks foreign prisoner row
The UK's head of immigration Lin Homer said staff were committed to sending home all overseas offenders, whether they are dangerous or not.

More than 11,000 of the 81,000 prison population are foreign nationals.

"It produced a huge headline saying that he was going to remove all of these foreign criminals and that is the impression that the government has repeatedly sought to give.

Labour just gets back to normal.
For all those who have told me...'their parents would turn in their graves if they voted against Labour."
To these people I say, "thank heavens my parents allowed me to think for myself.".

If you like incompetence, illegality, complete disregard for the electorate, carry on acting stupid and vote again for this immoral government.

ITS CHRISTMAS, DAY ALL IS SECURE

TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS HE LIVED ALL ALONE
IN A ONE BEDROOM HOUSE MADE OF PLASTER AND STONE
I HAD COME DOWN THE CHIMNEY WITH PRESENTS TO GIVE
AND TO SEE JUST WHO IN THIS HOME DID LIVE

I LOOKED ALL ABOUT, A STRANGE SIGHT I DID SEE
NO TINSEL, NO PRESENTS, NOT EVEN A TREE
NO STOCKING BY THE MANTLE, JUST BOOTS FILLED WITH SAND
ON THE WALL HUNG PICTURES OF FAR DISTANT LANDS
WITH MEDALS AND BADGES AWARDS OF ALL KINDS
A SOBER THOUGHT CAME THROUGH MY MIND

FOR THIS HOUSE WAS DIFFERENT, IT WAS DARK AND DREARY
I FOUND THE HOME OF A SOLDIER ONCE I COULD SEE CLEARLY
THE SOLDIER LAY SLEEPING SILENT ALONE
CURLED UP ON THE FLOOR IN THIS ONE BEDROOM HOME

THE FACE WAS SO GENTLE THE ROOM IN SUCH DISORDER
NOT HOW I PICTURED A LONE BRITISH SOLDIER
WAS THIS THE HERO OF WHOM I'D JUST READ
CURLED UP ON A PONCHO, THE FLOOR FOR A BED

I REALISED THE FAMILIES THAT I SAW THIS NIGHT
OWED THEIR LIVES TO THESE SOLDIERS WHO WERE WILLING TO FIGHT
SOON ROUND THE WORLD THE CHILDREN WOULD PLAY
AND GROWNUPS WOULD CELEBRATE A BRIGHT CHRISTMAS DAY

THEY ALL ENJOY FREEDOM EACH MONTH OF THE YEAR
BECAUSE OF THE SOLDIERS LIKE THE ONE LYING HERE
I COULDN'T HELP WONDER, HOW MANY ALONE
ON A COLD CHRISTMAS EVE IN A LAND FAR FROM HOME

THE VERY THOUGHT BROUGHT A TEAR TO MY EYE
I DROPPED TO MY KNEES AND STARTED TO CRY
THE SOLDIER AWAKENED AND I HEARD A ROUGH VOICE
'SANTA DON'T CRY, THIS LIFE IS MY CHOICE
I FIGHT FOR FREEDOM, I DON'T ASK FOR MORE
MY LIFE IS MY GOD, MY COUNTRY, MY CORPS'

THE SOLDIER ROLLED OVER AND DRIFTED TO SLEEP
I COULDN'T CONTROL IT I CONTINUED TO WEEP

I KEPT WATCH FOR HOURS SO SILENT AND STILL
AND WE BOTH SAT AND SHIVERED FROM THE COLD NIGHTS CHILL
I DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVE ON THAT COLD DARK NIGHT
THIS GUARDIAN OF HONOUR SO WILLING TO FIGHT

THEN THE SOLDIER ROLLED OVER WITH A VOICE SOFT AND PURE
WHISPERED 'CARRY ON SANTA ITS CHRISTMAS DAY ALL IS SECURE'
ONE LOOK AT MY WATCH AND I KNEW HE WAS RIGHT
'MERRY CHRISTMAS MY FRIEND AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT'

THIS POEM WAS WRITTEN BY A PEACE KEEPING SOLDIER STATIONED OVERSEAS

Bush Lawyers Discussed Fate of C.I.A.Tapes

WASHINGTON — At least four top White House lawyers took part in discussions with the Central Intelligence Agency between 2003 and 2005 about whether to destroy videotapes showing the secret interrogations of two operatives from Al Qaeda, according to current and former administration and intelligence officials.

Some other officials assert that no one at the White House advocated destroying the tapes. Those officials acknowledged, however, that no White House lawyer gave a direct order to preserve the tapes or advised that destroying them would be illegal.

The destruction of the tapes is being investigated by the Justice Department, and the officials would not agree to be quoted by name while that inquiry is under way.

Getting at the TRUTH

Israeli delegation heads to U.S. to argue Iran still seeking nuclear arms

JERUSALEM - Israel has dispatched an unscheduled delegation of intelligence officials to the U.S. to try to convince it that Iran is still trying to develop nuclear weapons - contrary to the findings of a recent U.S. intelligence report, security officials said.

The U.S. assessment, released earlier this month, concludes Iran halted its weapons development program in 2003 and that the program remained frozen through at least through the middle of this year. The findings reversed a key conclusion from a 2005 intelligence report that Iran was developing a bomb.

Israeli officials fear the report will weaken international resolve to contain Iran's nuclear ambitions.

 blog it
I understand the fears that Israel has for it's future, my Uncle Arthur was one of the British soldiers who first entered Belsen concentration camp. But I also understand the concerns of th Arab Nations with the theft of Palestine from under their noses. It is difficult because the Scots have taken over Blackpool with an insidious infiltration over the past two thousand years, but the Poles seem to have done better in a few short months?
We all know from the 'dodgy dossier' that whatever the "INTELLIGENCE" experts tell us, it is probably miles from the fact.

Is this where Labour's priorities lie?

Row over payments to failed asylum seekers

Thousands of failed asylum seekers have been flown out of Britain and set up in business back home in a £36 million taxpayer-funded scheme, it can be revealed.

More than 23,000 migrants have taken advantage of the scheme. Their UK-funded businesses range from market stalls to hotels and clothes factories, in countries as far-flung as South Africa, China and Colombia.

Shame on the Government. Stop LYING to the British people.

A Government who cannot pay for those who protect the realm, can find loose change for illegal activists. Having watched the Foreign Secretary smarm his way through an interrogation of a Parliamentary Committee and avoid/evade at every syllable, I am now convinced that British Politics have hit the incredible low of the Italians.
I am not convinced that the Conservatives are a viable alternative. Imagine Boris Johnson in a Cabinet with 17 of his Eton school-chums. Not bloody likely- to coin a phrase.
