Brown's treachery

Brown’s treachery…

So it appears that the MOD, for the last 10 years, can’t manage to buy anything for the armed forces without spending almost half as much again as it should and taking nearly twice as long as it should to do it. Furthermore – and as a result – the MOD is running out of money to do its job.

Apparently the MOD has been failing since 1999.

Brown (and Blair before him) have utterly betrayed the armed forces. And we should all be disgusted by that, for the misery that such a failure causes in lost lives and shattered families.

Twelve years I have been writing this. Personal experience means nothing to a government that is wholly interested in self preservation, greed and envy. Had the military the courage of the troopie, the Brass would have stuffed Health & Safety up the politicos arsehole. All too often we are witnessing the legacy of politicians enforcing political correctness on a way of life that not a one has the faintest clue about.

Only recently I have witnessed young officers doing a single tour of the battle zones, to come home and resign, yet The Brass does nothing. What have these honourable and courageous young people witnessed that has marked them so badly?

Every piece of video news from The Front fills me with anger as I witness my life’s work being destroyed with the needless waste of all these young lives. Young Brits who ought to have gaining from my generations knowledge, but they have not. Whilst I salute the valour and contribution of the women on the front line, I cannot help but be reminded of a lowering of expectation which GAVE the legendary Green Beret to an Army lass purely for political expedience, the purchase of the ill-conceived SA80 Assault Weapon, the litany of diabolically inept procurement for the RAF, the Navy and the Army whilst the costs are hidden from the purchaser – the tax payer, all symptomatic of the laissez faire attitude of the electorate and the government.

Stolen Valour

There is a growing cacophony of those who would want to sing in the choir of platitudes, ably led by the Prime Minister Gordon Brown. His sickening references and eulogies to soldiers of today hold little water with injured and sick former soldiers who have been brutally introduced to the realities of false promises.
This video is dedicated to those, like Baron Shortarse or whatever he calls himself, and the ignorant host who actually give their like some form of credablity yet ignore the plight of the faceless who gave much and receive little.

Baroness Scotland Has No Defence Unless She “Checked and Copied”

Baroness Scotland was appointed by Gordon Brown to be government’s chief legal adviser. Prior to becoming Attorney General she worked as a minister in the Home Office, cracking down on illegal migrants and imposing tougher penalties on business and individuals who employ them was passed.

The Daily Mail has Baroness Scotland bang-to-rights, yet she says she did not knowingly employ the Tongan illegal immigrant, Loloahi Tapui, and her spokesman says the Attorney General “saw documents which led her to believe that Ms Tapui was entitled to work in this country” when she hired her. There is only one statutory defence against conviction for employing an illegal worker under section 8 of the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996 – the act specifies that you get this defence only by checking and copying certain original documents belonging to your employee.

The Home Office guidance on this is clear – you will only be able to establish the defence by checking and copying specified documents, including the passport and “any page containing UK Government endorsements indicating that the holder has an entitlement to be in the UK and is entitled to undertake the work in question.”

So all the Attorney General has to do to clear her name is show us the copy of the page and she is in the clear. If she has not got that copy, she has broken the law she is supposed to uphold. Clear and simple.

The Penny Drops - but has Washington learned?

clipped from www.nytimes.com

WASHINGTON — The nation’s top military officer pushed back Tuesday against Democrats who oppose sending additional combat troops to Afghanistan, telling Congress that success would probably require more fighting forces, and certainly much more time.

What took the might of the Soviet Empire, the erudition of the British Empire a generation to learn, has taken Washington seven years. You cannot impose on the disparate and clannish Afghan people ideals and “standards” which their history has continually rejected without fundamentally changing the entire ‘psyche’ of the Afghan people.

The only people to make an impact on the Afghans were the Mongols and they did it by imposing the strict code or law of the Mongol Empire that was universal under their regime. It read, 1- No gods supersede the Emperor. 2- All gods are equal under the Emperor, down to about 10 when it read 'all emissaries to the Court of the Emperor are to have safe passage under threat of death to perpetrators'. The Mongols enforced their law by recruiting the savants and mandarins from within the conquered nations, supported by the most mobile and terrifying army ever seen on Earth. For a brief period of time its' efficiency and thoroughness worked.

Where were the educators, the police, the builders and the engineers behind the Army of Conquest led by the deluded halfwit Bush? In Bush’s bunker planning his next hideaway?

Mongolians, however, know that their legal tradition embodies more than merely the writing of Chinggis Khaan. The Great Zasag Law, written sometime between 1206 and 1218, was for the most part a codification of the general principles of law already held by the tribes under his command. Except for the military and administrative innovations of Chinggis, it does not represent a sudden invention of the rule of law. Written and unwritten, laws had likely always played a significant role in the lives of Central Asia’s nomadic peoples, even reportedly as far back as the Third Century BC. Mongolia may not have existed as a single nation prior to its unification under Chinggis Khaan, but it did exist in the form of nomadic tribes, each of which had some form of unwritten traditional law. Chinggis Khaan had the foresight to have some of them recorded for posterity.

Another killed in Afghanistan

Canadian soldier killed in Afghanistan

Private Patrick Lormand

Private Patrick Lormand is the 130th Canadian soldier to be killed in Afghanistan

I have not ignored the fact that another British soldier from the 2nd Lancs was killed. This is to remind all those Labour suporters that those dying in their war are all from British stock, be they American, Canadian or Australian.
There supporters who wave hate banners at returning soldiers and harbour sedition against our greed - DO NOT.
TUC blinded delegates, get into the real world. Your debate today has been an insult to those injured and killed for your corrupt ideals.
